The Ray Stand gives it a place of its own—a simple, sculptural curve that keeps it upright and close at hand without demanding attention. Whether it's waiting for the next notification, holding a recipe while you cook, or making room for a FaceTime conversation, it quietly becomes part of the rhythm of your day.
Like every Ciseal object, it's made one at a time in my Leonard, Michigan studio. I hand-layer ten sheets of sustainably sourced wood veneer, mold them into shape, then trim, sand, and finish each stand by hand. The result is a continuous curve that's remarkably strong, beautifully simple, and subtly unique to the natural character of the wood.
A hand-rubbed oil and wax finish enhances the grain while providing durable resistance to water and everyday wear. Cork strips underneath keep the stand firmly in place while protecting the surface beneath it.
Sometimes the smallest objects are the ones you interact with most. They deserve the same thoughtful design as everything else in your home.
